As we approach the first day of Ramadan, we are honored to contribute to The Islamic Food Bank Foundation, on behalf of the exceptional team at Eidi Family Properties.

We take immense pride in supporting the vital work of this organization and recognizing the dedication of its founders, including the late John “Yahia” Shousher and his wife Emney, pillars of the community who devoted their lives to serving others. Additionally, the late Waseela “Weezy” Mansour, whose unwavering generosity continues to inspire her family and the broader community.

This year marks a new chapter as The Islamic Food Bank of Toledo transitions into The Islamic Food Bank Foundation, establishing itself as an independent entity committed solely to tackling food insecurity. We extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Razi Rafeeq, whose leadership and selfless service over the past 15 years have built the foundation for this incredible work. His dedication to feeding those in need and ensuring a smooth transition to new leadership exemplifies the spirit of true generosity.

Under the guidance of new Executive Director Lauren Bacans-Grounds, The Islamic Food Bank Foundation continues to grow, expanding its food pantries and mobile food programs, ensuring that no family in our community goes hungry. In 2024 alone, the foundation distributed 645,000 meals—an incredible testament to the collective effort of donors, volunteers, and leaders like Dr. Rafeeq.

Guided by the values instilled in me by my parents, we remain committed to giving as much as we can to support those in need. We are deeply grateful to God for the opportunity to play a small role in this mission and to witness the power of community coming together to serve others. May this Ramadan bring blessings to all who give and receive.
